I am not sure who to ask about this so I am going to post it here.
My PC recently crashed so I had to replace it. My new PC came without any backup discs so I had to create Restore DVDs using the supplied program.
When I tried to restore the PC (because it subsequently crashed, not much luck with PCs sometimes) from the created Restore discs it stopped after inserting the 2nd disc and said it could not read it.
I called tech (lack of) support and the person told me that the problem was that I used discs that Windows has determined are not compatible with Windows XP. They said that TDK, Memorex, Maxell are not compatible with Windows XP and should not be used.
Has anyone else heard this? This sounds very odd.
