    Nero Color Loss?

I captured my first mini DV video from my Sony camera in Nero 6 and burnt my first DVD, everything went pretty well and I am very satisfied with the quality from a "clear" quality standpoint, but had a significant loss of color from the DV tape to DVD. Is this normal? Is there a better way to manipulate the AVI from DV tape in Nero to prevent color loss? Did I do something wrong?

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

    My mistake, sorry Nero!

The color loss is in the captured AVI file, I capture video from my mini DV tape / camera (Sony TRV-17) using the Sony DV Gate software that came on the PC and there is quite a bit of color loss and the same result when using Nero.

Is it normal for the captured DV AVI file to be color lossy, washed out?

This is my first experience at mini DV copy and DVD burn.

I was using firewire from Sony Camera TRV-22 Mini DV Tape (Digital I assume) and the color loss is on the AVI file when viewed on the PC and after written to the DVD when played back in several players and TV's, when saved to DVD using both Sony DV gate software and Nero. It looks about the same when captured using WMM and played back through the PC. PC is a few years old, Sony Vaio, Pentium 4, 1.8GHz 512MB DRR Ram with new DVD +/-R Dual Layer DRU-810A

The color loss / wash is not terribly severe but defenately noticable.

Since this was my first AVI to DVD conversion and burn I did not know what to expect. The Mini DV played back to the TV direct from the camera looks very good but the conversion to DVD has about 15% color loss / wash-out (for lack of better description) the overall quality/ resolution of grain (pixel) size is very good!

I just don't know what to expect or what sould be considered normal.
