Why do we gotta wait?

why is this? i wait only 1 sec and it works, so the suggestion is even wrong.

That is probably because by the time your browser refreshes the page, 2 seconds have passed. Ask admin why that "rule" is in place.

Probably to stop external attacks on the server. I recall admin saying once that searches can take server time and slow things down, so waiting 10 seconds can stop the nasties.

i see you got any proof to back up your case? if your a fast clicker like me it's annoying at times

because some time may have lapsed. ie; after i look for my cigars....and that method don't work if you want the highlighted thread indicating a new post since last view.

try firefox. tabbed browsing lets you read any amount of threads without leaving the search page. version 1 was excellent, 1.5 is a huge improvement

Or you could Shift click from the search page in IE to open a new IE and always leave IE up.

BTW: After 15 minutes (I think) you do get an update of the bolds - this is a bit irksome though - it didn't used to happen in v2 of the software IIRC, but this version is so much better, we gotta take the good with the bad, I guess.

you are right about that. it's the one new thing i didn't like. in that case i have to use 24 hrs and they aren't bolded---like you say good with bad
