Hi, I've being DVD burning successfuly for the last 5 months, encountered a problem last week
(slow back up speeds 1:45 instead of :35) solved via this forum it was DMA seting Thanks.
Now Nero playing up I backup using DVD Shrink then burn though Nero 6.6 OEM,I can back up
2 or 3 DVDs then stop with a error message, I re insatall Nero alls fine for 2/3 DVDs then I have
to re install It's getting to be a real pain. I enclose a copy of tonight's Nero Error message.
Can anyone dechiper the error message and tell me why it's playing up?

Do this problem arise every time you do 2-3 consecutive burnings?

Maybe the problem is an excessive heating of laser pickup.

On log file I see that there is a power calibration error. Often (not always) this error is due to hardware failure. Maybe your burner is near the end of its life

Or the lens may need cleaning. Or you are using poor quality discs. You could also try upgrading to the latest firmware for your drive.

It don't like your media either. Get better media. Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim.

        Update firmware to KYS3 - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2097

Nero could also be updated - http://www.nero.com/en/nero-up.php and burn speed slowed to 4x.

Read and implement the Golden Rules of Burning.

          Hi,
          Thanks for the replies,
"2-3 consecutive burnings" no they are not consecutive burns they can be over a week.
The Media I use is Datawrite Grey 8x, which has given me no problems for the last 5 months!!!!
Anyway I'll read though the links that you have surgested, and see if any of it helps.
          Thanks
