Problem with sound on dvd player, bit weird

    Hi,

I have a umax/Yamada DVD-MK-105 (i think thats what its called) and recently the sound playback on certian films has been a bit dodgy.

The other day I tried playing a dvd that I had downloaded, the problem being, its like the audio has been put on in layers, background sound could be heard but none of the actors voices. The subtitles were also on, which I could not get rid of, despite messing with the remote for a while.

The same thing happened last night with a divx film.

The films are ok as they play fine on my media center on my chipped xbox ?

    Anyone any ideas ?

    Thanks in advance

    Steve.

That happened to my dad... was fixed by buying a new drive. Not sure of the problem, but you can get cheap drives for as low as $35 now (DVD-ROM) and burners (the one I have) for $50 - see www.microcenter.com
