Please help - DVD conversion

Hi All,

I have a DVD which I convert using NERO "convert DVD to CD" and it churn out a file with a .mp4 however when I try to open it with windows movie maker to do some editing, it cannot be open.

How can I convert this file to a MPEG file?

I'm not sure to understand what do you want to do.

Do you want to convert a DVD in avi? Or the opposite?

A video DVD is already an mpeg file, so please can you explain better?

Try to use DVD2SVCD; it's free and a really good software.
