      VCD's only support hard coded subs, therefor you can't "rip" them. Only way would be to OCR them using something like SubRip.

          What you'll say, if make a try to convert the *.dat -> *.mpeg ?

            A dat is just an mpg with a riff/cdxa header. Removing the header and renaming back to mpg doesn't change the fact that the subs are hard coded.

                can someone help me split a sub-title file 3 ways, see I download Hindi(Indian) movies, and once did a split on a sub-title 2 ways, but dont remember how i did it, or what program i used....ok i have 3 avi files and 1 subtitle file. i want to burn the movie, so i need help....A S A P....e-mail me at neha.112872@gmail.com

                  Use Subtitle workshop , there is a small learning curve though for what you are trying to do.

                  Pls no PM's, no direct mailing, whats the use of forums then.

                        Extract dat to mpg, frameserve with subs to TMPGEnc, encode, author and burn.

                              As I already said. VCD specs don't allow for subs, so they have to be hard encoded. So you need to re-encode as per above.
