98 minutes movie smaller than a 93 minutes movie?

i have two dvds here, one is 98 minutes (widescreen) and is smaller than this other dvd i have that is 93 minutes (not widescreen) - i'm just curious as to why the 93 minute movie is bigger in size? is it because it's not widescreen? also, the 93 minute movie is viewing in full screen (not widescreen) and on the back of the dvd case it says 16x9 1.85:1 - but doesn't play it like that. any ideas?

Size is very subjective to each authored movie so therefore cant comment on that.

Probably its not widescreen also and might be fullscreen.

It all has to do with the bitrates. One probably has a larger bitrate, or a lower compression.

If the 'wide-screen' is presented in a letter box format, it would make sense on the same flipper disc. I'm assuming that these are 2 different discs you are talking about. Does the 93 min disc have two sides? If not , check the aspect ratio settings on your DVD player and the TV (if it is wide screen). The most likely reason for the discrepancy however, is just different authoring as mentioned above.
