Actually, my answer is NEITHER. My preferred aspect ratio is WHATEVER THE MOVIE WAS INTENDED TO BE SEEN IN. So if it's 2.35, 1.78 or 1.33 to 1 it doesn't matter. For example: Eyes Wide Shut was filmed in 1.33 to 1 and is intended to be seen that way. So are a lot of IMAX films. In the case of 'A Bug's Life', it can be enjoyed two ways, both 'correct', as the 1.33:1 was recomposed. In movies that were shot in Super 35, I prefer the 1:33 to one, as all of the visual elements are preserved.
