tried to stick paper (movie titles) on dvd, not good idea...

i don't really like my handwriting so i decided to print out the movie titles i wrote up in notepad and cut them and sticky taped them to the dvd... i couldn't believe that when i played it there was a buzzing sound from the paper... the paper even ripped off and got stuck in the dvd rom so i had to take out the paper... must be really sensitive to make buzzing and even rip it right off when it was stuck down flat on the disc. now i gotta remove all the paper i stuck

forgive me. just hope you didn't bust the player for good. i use avery 5160 envelope labels on all of my discs. these suckers are the kind if label that once stuck, they only come off in shreds. they fit a disc perfectly too and are very light. they never lift or anything--very permanent. i suggest something like that if you want to use labels. MS word has a setting to print on these label sheets. i like you, don't use a sharpie because i feel a hand written label looks sloppy and cheap.

I suggest you don't use labels at all. There are many users that complained a very bad worsening of disc readability after some time.

If you like the best way is to use printable media.

LT, what about CD Stomper? I got tons of those... but stopped using them after you all told me not to use labels.

But yeah, Sharpies look like cr@p on discs.

i had something very similar called afterburner. threw it in the bush. labels like that are to heavy. envelope labels are ok my trials have found. on my players, my friends players--many.

So how do you "perfectly center" them? And what if you wanna go to www.cdcovers.cc and get a cover... you would need a freaking lot of those labels and scissors to make that work

i just eyeball them. some even end up visibly off-center. don't make any difference. they are just too small and light. i don't use cd covers.

I keep mine dvds in cd cases and print covers from google images or amazon.com. Cost a little more but looks good and stores dvds in a good case.

I've mentioned this before, but I use either a Epson for inkjet printable DVD's or I use a Casio Thermal CD Printer. Inkjet prettier, Casio, water/smudge proof. For DVD's that have manufacturer's labels already on them, I just use a Fine sharpie. I used a label once, and they started peeling in a few months. Never AGAIN! Looie, I'm surprised at you!
