I need help

hey guys,
i am very new to this
i was just wondering of anyone could help me out
i have recorded film on my Sony Handycam Digital camera

but i don't have any clue how to get it onto my computer
lol

Do i need a certain program or anything to get the video from my camera to my hard drive??

A firewire cable and something that supports DV capture. If you were planning on editing, that app would support capture. Otherwise there are some free standalone apps such as: http://windv.mourek.cz/

yea..but like..i have recorded film on my digital video camera
and i plug in my usb port and everything into my computer
but once i plug it in nothing happens
what do i do??

I would suggest that you use firewire over USB. Still for USB your camera should have come with some kind of Sony software.
