what is bitrate for dvd?

when i convert my 4:3's to 16:9's i usually use bitrate 8000000, different movies are different bitrates, but you do see the 8000000 often. well i do anyway. another movie i got is 7500000... i'm not sure what it is really... but i just use 8000000 cause i see it on dvds often.

The max for DVD is 9000 kbps, I dont know you are depicting the bitrate in bps or what ??.

Usually 5000-8000 kbps gives good picture.
