What's the best way to burn 4000 photos(4GB) on a DVD?

What's the best way to burn 4000 photos(4GB) on a DVD?

My digital photos are all neatly seperated into folders.
I make it so that each top folder holds only 4GB.(nearly
the capacity of one blank DVD)

I can never make my burning software(Nero, Roxio, or
RecordNow) to just take the whole folder and burn it.
It almost always fails. I get around this by choosing to
burn it into an image(ISO). Then I can burn the ISO
to a DVD without any problems.

Are there other better ways of backing up my photos to
    DVDs?

    Thanks for any suggestions!

I always burn mine as data files in Nero with no problems. I'm not sure why you are having problems.
