    TV Capture software

Looking for some good TV capture software. I tried virtualdub and was not happy. I have tried virtualvcr but can't get audio to work for some reason. I have been using the software that came with my card, ati multimedia center., but it leaves alot to be desired. Any suggestions would be great, free or not.

Better to capture in avi.Use Picvideo MJPEG codec for compression. And Virtualdubmod or Virtualdub vcr r quite good for capturing avi.In fact I have recently captured an hour of home video in Virtualdub vcr using Picvideo MJPEG without ANY frame drop.

you have to have a fast processor, and you can't do anything else while you are capturing, or you will drop frames.

Just curious, what problems are you having with your ATI Multimedia capture software? I've got an ATI All-In-Wonder Pro X-600 video card. I'm not saying the ATI capture software is the best ever but it seems OK for most situations. I've captured TV programs to mpeg2, edited out commercials, authored to DVD and haven't noticed any problems at all. Just wondering what issues you're having with it.

It is not that I am having issues, I just think there has to be a better solution.

OK... but better solution to what? What is it that the ATI capture software isn't doing for you?

I don't like how I have to update the guide to view what is one, I don't like the interface to watch and record with. I am simply looking for other options. If no better ones exsist I will continue to use it, but on the chance a better one does exsist I would like to try it out.
