PAL to NTSC conversion and vice versa
Please can anyone help and give some advice on PAL to NTSC and NTSC to PAL TV system conversion of video files?. Are these video file TV system conversions done only by hardware? Where can I buy the appropriate hardware? Are there any video file TV system conversion programs, and whhere can I get them? Thank You!

I usually stay away from these conversion, much safer/ troublefree to buy multi region player.Comment

i would agree. except for where the original poster mentioned "video files" so in the case of say an .avi container, conversion is actually an easy process with the help of tmpgenc's de-multiplex tool and dgpulldown (the method i use)."One day men will look back and say I gave birth to the 20th Century". I am new at this but ill give it a go??
If your video files are dvd copatible. Then all you have to do is download dvd shrink and the instructions then recopy your file and make your new copy region free. Its all on the instructions, I think that should work.

Sorry to say Blu,PAL to NTSC is widely covered.NTSC to PAL is not.And I live in PAL region.But i do agree that it is surely better to buy a player that plays both.where this topic is extensively coveredsigpic

Here's the thing LT i'm sure u know a lot more then me since you gave me ansures to problems that i didnt know. But i bought a few dvd's in ntsc and made backups on region free. Now i only have dvd roms, not a dvd player connected to my tv, but my dvd rom is set on ntsc and my dvd writer is set on pal. And after i backed up the the dvd on region free i can now play it on both my dvd rom and dvdwriter.
If i got something wrong please let me knowComment
