I dont see anything wrong with getting a 43" Plasma .All I can say is shop around and get the best deal for yourselfComment

The last TV we "bought" was a Sony (ugh now) from Zellers (A Hudson Bay affiliate) for free with Club Z points. It is a Sony Trinitron SRS 32". Great picture. BTW television editors use to use this as their monitor of choice. My brother is an editor and it was the standard before HDTVGary D

I don't think you will regret buying a Plasma.
If you are seriously looking for a new display, look in to next couple years and decide what exactly you will be using the TV for. Will you have an HD receiver? HD-DVD/BluRay player? You'll want to ensure you have enough inputs and compliant connections to last you the life of your device.
