Help Me Please!!!

I recently purchased a Sony DCR-TRV330, and I've been trying to capture the DV into .AVI's using my computer.


I'm running at 933MHz, 384MB of RAM, 32MB Video Card, and 30 GB hard drive. I'm also using an Adaptec Fire Wire card.


I tried capturing the video in both Adobe Premiere as well as MGI VideoWave, and it continues to skip frames during capturing. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!! This is driving me INSANE!!!


I can capture in .WMV with Windows Movie Maker with no problem, but the .AVI captures just refuse to work! Please HELP!!!!

Are you using firewire?

I have almost exactly the same config and experienced the same problem when I tried to save disk space by setting the Windows compression "on" for my hard drive. With compression on, a 60 minute AVI file was only about 40 mintues long (1 out of three frames lost!). With compression turned off, I never lost a frame.
