Mpeg,wma And Avi Movie Clips

Wondering if there is software and/or method to connect movie clips together without using the "Movie Maker"? If not will the play like a movie if I burn them to a DVD or do I need to convert them to another format? I have thousands of movie clips so the movie maker would be a very long drawn out process.

don't know if it's easier, but TMPGEnc can join mpegs, virtualdub can join avi's. you can use batch mode. of course the file attributes for all must be the same to join.
