I've downloaded and installed the DivX Player... notes above.... and the DivX community codec. The latter won't open the Google files even when they have an avi file extension.

This is my last hope.... I installed ffdshow but I can't find any mention in the codec config of dvix4 or vfw. I looked though all the other menus too.

            Virtual Dub To The Rescue?

Maybe not my last hope: here's a guide that says gvi files can be converted to avi files using Virtual Dub http://www.tavisjohn.com/nuke/module...article&sid=32

EDIT... maybe not... it created a huge 6 gig file after only processing the first 5 minutes of a 90 minute show.

Thanks for that. But after downloading 5-6 video programs in the last 24 hours my brain is getting numb. FFDShow is just blowing me away... reminding me how little I know. But all I'm finding is config menu atop config menu. How does one import a video file? It's not the grab option.

I just tried the SUPER encoder.... from http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

It will work with the Google avi files and convert them to mpg, VCD, SVCD etc... but the video is all washed out.

Hmmmm, I tried that, in VDub it shows as DivX codec. I just say, encode using the normal DivX.

Thanks for responding but don't confuse me with someone who's not a newbie. I think after a year I have Shrink and DVD Decryptor down... sort of. But the last 5-10 video programs that I've downloaded just make my head spin... LOL
