Divx movies to DV camcorder via firewire

I would really like to transfer my Divx movies to my DV camcorder via firewire, without the lengthy (9hrs+) recompression in Adobe premiere 6.0. My camera has DV In and Out sockets. What software do I need to do this?
Also I understand that an hour of Digital Video can take upto 14gig of HD space. I was wondering what the data capacity of a MiniDV cassette is, and whether it they can be used as a data storage device.

erm cant you just export the file as it is though the firewire? i mean dont bother with encoding...
