movie errors when converted

I often experience that some of my movies (AVI's, MPEGS, DIVX's) are screwed up after having them converted and burned into DVD's.
Often they suddenly looks pixels-like for some seconds or the picture begins to "stutter"... and then the movie stops.

What do I do wrong?

What program are you using?

Sounds like a media issue. What brand blanks are you using? What is your burner? And what program ( as per drf )

I use all kind of brands.

To convert I use Tmpgenc express/author or Winaviconverter and then burn it winaviconverters own burner or nero or NTI-burner.

Not all I do is bad. Often Its ok, but unfortunately often too the outcome is miserable.
