    Encoding speed...DivX 5.01

    Hello, I'm an Italian Newby.
    I have one doubt....

    With: Athlon 1.1.Ghz, 512Mb 136Mhz, GF2Mx 32Mb, Win Me, XMpeg 4.5
    I obtain only 13-14 fps
    with this settings:
    Priority process: Normal
Option IDCT: Athlon/Duron 3D Now iDCT
    Audio: Non processare l'audio
    Format: YV12 (Overlay automatic)
    Filthering: Bressenham
    Pixel size: 4:3 TV
    Aspect ratio: Mantein l/h 16/9

    codec /5.01
    Encoding bitrate: 780 Kbps
    Max Keyframe Interval: 300 frames
    Data rate control (RC): 12-2-2000-10-20
    Performance/quality: Slow
Souce Interlaced: All frames are progressive

But other people, with slower processor obtain speed like 30-35 fps

    What I've to do??
    Please, Help me...

That sounds resonable, I seriously doubt anyone can get 30 frames per second ripping a DVD on a 1 GHz cpu.

Your results seem pretty much in line with http://www4.tomshardware.com/video/0...cessor_systems (Make sure you don't read the rest of the aticle)

If you were using the pro version with any of the Mpeg-4 options you can get a nice boost by turning them off.

Using avisynth for frameserving into Vdub I only get about 6 fps with the Mpeg-4 options turned on, using a celeron 900.
Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.
