    SONY HandyCam DV OUT Problem

I have a Sony HandyCam DCR TRV60E. Until now I have always taken Camera though to Video tape. That has always been just fine. I now want to burn DVDs. I tried the USB link, and the quality is terrible! So, I thought I would try Firewire. My Laptop (IBM R52) has a Firewire-A. When I connected, all I got was "DV IN" on the Cam, whatever I did. So, I bought a new STLab Firewire B card. The card seems to work OK, but I still only get "DV IN" on the Sony, and can't use IEEE 1349 (A or B) to download. The computer just does not "see" the Sony. I realise I have probably sone something dumb, but I can't work out what!

The laptop is XP Pro, fully patched.

Any pointers to what I am doing wrong?

    Hello.

You might visit Sony's E-Support web site and see if that particular model has a firmware update or software update that would solve the issue of the pc not seeing the camera.

Looking for support on Sony Electronics products? Find comprehensive support information for Sony products.

Put in your unit's model number on the lower right of the page and click the large blue arrow, if there are any bullitens or updates for your unit, it will list them in order of priority.

    Good luck!

    Here..I will fix it!
