You will need to download the "AMV Convert Tool". This is part of the "MP3 Player Utilities".

Not what they appear....

I hate to put a damper on things, but most of the problems I'm reading I had also. Your MP4 player is probably not what it appears to be. A lot of these units are reporting a false amount of memory and that's the root of most of our problems.
It may appear that you can copy lots of files or large files on to the player but if you copy them back to the computer, you'll find they are corupted and no longer work there. (this is only if you have gone over the "REAL" amount of memory in your player such as 128mb or 256mb in some bad cases).
Yes we've been scammed (if you check the chip #s in your player you can confirm this) They've figured out how to make it "report" a false amount and that is why when people reformat their players it starts reporting the true amount

The only good news is: If you delete the corrupt files and put just a few on (not more than the true max momory) they work fine, yes even the .amv files work as long as I don't go over the "real" size

can someone please helpme? i got this, what i thought would be really cool, mp4 player but the only format of video it will play is .AMV. the disc it came wioth is no good. does anyone have a good converter they can share or point me in the direction of where i can find one? that mympx site will not let me download the converter there. it locks my computer up. this is so frustrating. anyone can e-mail me at dougie97@hotmail.com. thanks!!

Ok...hopefully someone can help me...I am not a computer expert...

I got my son an mp4 knock off for his b.day yesterday...I managed to download the converter, but I can't play the files in windows media player, and I don't know how to get them from my pc to the digital player...I have windows media player 9, do I need 11?...I will have to put xp on my pc if so...sigh...I am sooooooo freakin frustrated....all the instructions are translated badly from japanese....ugh...anyone who can help please email me, I need specific directions...thanks

I also bought a chinese mp4 player,was about to give up trying to convert vob(dvd) file to amv.But i finally found a codec pack called SLD codec package-freeware-and now amv convert tool works perfectly!Both amv convert tool and SLD codec pack are free downloads -hope this helps

the program you need is amv convert tool-it is in MP3 Player Utilities,freeware.you will also need SLD codec pack,also freeware.both together will allow you to convert vob ,avi,mpeg to amv for chinese mp4 player.i had the same problem,disk didnt work,etc. but this fixed me right up.i found both programs with google.
