We do understand your problem, gator. I agree with the LT. But, since you waited so long for it and don't want to screw around waiting for a replacement, try waxing it with a spray wax like Pledge or even try an auto wax. If that doesn't work, you could try rubbing it with toothpaste. If neither methods work, forget it, it's not worth the bother.

Now I dont advocate doing this to a disc you dont own or to do it if you have no experience, but buffing with a soft wheel can work. I have a Used CD DvD place near me that does this. They have 2 soft wheel buffers and a fancy machine that uses a wet abrasive process to clean and polish discs. If I owned a disc and my attempts at home failed I would have them try the buffer, but as others have stated a phone call to BB customer service would be the way to start. Its their problem not yours. Just my .02

Gator : if you ask me, I would clean it the best you can with a disk repair solution with a soft lentfree cloth. the use dvd decypter to back it up to your hard drive. use shrink to make a iso. the burn it to a re-writable.

the reason i suggest to back it up to a re-writable is its not yours but you should at least be able to watch it.

dont forget to delete the iso and folder.

the other choice is call blockbuster online at 1-866-692-2789 and report the scratch DVD and they will send another one

have to agree with bill. as long as you don't use gritty paste (common sense), you should be fine, i've never had a problem. most times i just use dishsoap and water too.

I was just browsing around a seen a post with a link to a site where a guy scratched cds with scissors on purpose and tried various methods to get it to be read. The thing that worked best was hair gel!!!

Brasso is an abrasive\polisher which should work like toothpaste. The hair gel sounds so simple and quick. I might just scratch something on purpose, go buy some hair gel and try it.

i tell ya the stuff works,,blows away toothpast,,i had a disk that i just
couldn't back up(CRC error)),,tried everything under the sun till brasso
worked like a charm got rid of all the scrathes.
