audio out of sync

i have a mpeg4 video and the audio is about 10 seconds out of sync, i have virtual dub but i am very new to digital video what do i have to do to seperate audio and video and redub them?

If the lack of synchronization is CONSISTENT throughout the video, you can correct it by using VirtualDub as follows:

1) Load file into VirtualDub

2) Set both "Video" and "Audio" to "Direct Stream Copying"

3) From under the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Interleaving"

4) Enter an appropriate positive or negative number in the box labeled "Audio skew correction" (This may take some experimenting to get it "just right")

5) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "Save as AVI" - and save with a new filename
