Can't convert streaming media into video file

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know how is it possible to save streaming online video as a video file? You can't just click "save as" etc.. maybe there is a program which converts it to new video file while watching? for example online tv shows, music videos etc.. Is there any solution?
