    won't see DVD

Hello fellas, this is my first post here... it looks like a great forum.... glad I found it... ANYWHO

I have been burning for a while now, and I have come across this problem once in a blue moon, and I never have been able to fix it.

Sometime my drive will not recognize that there is a DVD in it at all. I reboot my computer blah blah... then 2 days later it will see the movie.

I then try to Shrink it, and get errors....

    any fixes, sugestion etc?

MOVIE IN QUESTION: Entourage Season 1

    thanks

    Welcome to the <a href="http://forum.digital-digest.com/faq.php?faq=vb_faq#faq_new_faq_item" target="_blank">Digital Video Forums</a> BLOWZO!

Sounds to me your drive is going out. How old is the drive? What brand and model # is the drive? What version of firmware do you have for it?

Try and clean it also, with air and\or a cleaning disk.

          They also do wear out.

As jm said, try to clean the laser. Maxwell makes one they sell at Wal-Mart for about $10.

Life expectancy is different for everyone depending on how much its been used. There is no definite answer for how long it should or shouldn't last.
