Yeah I know, but they can't say the F word, etc.
The local station here got in huge trouble for saying the S word so they are especially picky about that one on the air...
I like when they do the phone scams, they beep out anything and everything but it's funny most of allCYA Later:

i swear, but nothing like that unless i'm really really angry. which is pretty rare. but some people swear just as casual talk which is very unappealing. teenagers and gang bangers, thugs. listen how they talk. tame ones like sh** and bastard and stuff like that are no biggie to me, that's the way most people talk. now talking like this at church or at the dinner table obviously shouldn't be done, there is a right time and wrong time. i'm not a holy roller."One day men will look back and say I gave birth to the 20th Century". I was expressing my dislike of censorship. People express themselves in certain manners based on many factors. I usually listen to what the person says and am not too offended by much. I have experienced so much racism by polite speaking people that "colorful" language does not mean so much to me. Some people can really express themselves and be funny swearing. Like Lt. said, there is a time and place for everything. In all actuality I do not swear much. The main reason is because some people do actually find my looks intimidating and I try to maintain a dignified presence, unless I am with some biker gang friends, then I hang loose. When I posted my response I did it in such a manner as to demonstrate the filters in place in this forum, which are great and make swear words look funny, IMHO. I thought that was obvious.Comment

I swear in the car and that's about it!
My hubby swears all the time to almost anyone. I asked him to stop and he said, why? I told him that anyone with a Master's spent enough time in school to learn hundreds of adjectives! But a few words now and then don't bother me.
I understand where you're coming from, toomanycats. The forum where I work filters swear words, too many capital letters, too many exclaimation points, whether it might be offensive to someone living in Timbuktu...it goes on and on.Comment

How about filtering all those naked animals, not just humans,
but dogs, cats, etc. also? National Geographic shows animals
breeding. And how about all that killing, both real and make
believe? Police were hardly necessary in our schools before TV.Last edited by JimS; 15 Jul 2006, 03:12 AM.Comment
