how to run 2 passes of DivX Codec

I am a new user of DivX and very happy to join this group. I have a question for two passes. Please help. I have tried to use DivX Codec 5.01 Pro or 4.12 in VirtualDub 1.4.10. I do not know how to use two passes to make my DivX file. I only know "SAVE as AVI" to make a DivX file. Would anyone tell me the steps and parameters to run 1st and 2nd passes? Where I can read a manual of VirtualDub? Thanks.

First You setup an encoding with '2-pass first pass' selected in the codec properties page, and select 'save as avi' this will start the first pass. When this is completed you select '2-pass second pass' and select save as avi again.

The first pass will create an invalid avi file.

If you check the 'Add to job list and defer processing' in the save menu when setting up both passes, you can setup both passes before completing the first pass, just go to 'job control' and select start when you have setup both passes.
Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.
