    interleave function in virtualdub

Can any1 tell me what the significance of 'Interleave audio by 1 frame' in virtualdub is ? Does changing it affects a/v sync ?

affects seeking speed & readability from CD/DVD's, also has effect on standalone compatiblity; leave it at 1 frame. shouldn't affect sync

Depends on the audio. For mp3 that is fine. Not so good for AC3.

for de/muxing avi (and especially with aac, ac3, etc) i wouldn't recommend vdub anyway. use avi-mux GUI

more features in muxing department. vdubmod is rather dated here, especially in mkv, doesn't do aac either

for ac3 in avi setting 500ms preload & interleave every 2 frames works well

default i guess. people usually encode to avi for compression, pcm audio defeats the purpose
