Right - I have been given the task of building a computer for my bro - he's just getting into the digital video editing for work which uses macromedia, adobe and so on. I ain't no novice when it comes to building these things - but this has stumped me. So far, I've picked out £2½k's worth of kit - INtel Conroe Core 2, Asus P5w DH Deluxe mainboard/motherboard, a VERY COOL case (as in keeping cool!!), 3 hard drives - one being a mirror hard drive, a nVidia GeForce 7900GX2 iGB PCI-E graphics card, 620 power supply and 8Gb of RAM.
NOw I've never done anything demanding in terms of movie and sound (pure commercial art) so I don't know what will keep him in tact when making a 3 hour long presentation for his boss to use when he can't make a seminar/presention/meeting so I'm asking all you guys out there for TWO BITS OF ADVICE...................
a) Are the components chosen so far going to be good enough for these demanding tasks and
b) What else do I need to enable the DV creation (whether avi or mpeg4, but I know flash will be used in it).
I'm hoping to get him running on XP Pro x64 too - so any advice on this newbee would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers Buds,
