Ok.. Since my rating is appropriate here and I'm NOT too video smart, no one should be surprised by my question:

Is there an EASY way to convert an MPG file to a format the DVD player will read?

I used nero's suite 7.. didn't come out well. Anyway - my free trial is up.

There's got to be something easier.

U have to first make DVD compliant MPEG2 files.Then author them to a DVD using something like TMPGEnc DVD Author.See the DVD Authoring section for detailed help.

Hi. I have used some kinds of DVD authoring to make DVD using MPEG files. I prefer TMPGEnc DVD Authoring and Womble MPEG Video Wizard DVD. They are easy to learn and useful. But the MPEG Video Wizard DVD is more suitable for me, because it can edit the MPEG fils on timeline.

@Paglamon, what the heck is a ".m2v" file? I have so many of these files, they are Music Video and i want to combine them and play them as a Video.
Do you knwo of any EASY FREEWARE that I can use.

Also I have mpg and mpeg fiels ... and for life of me my search online does not yield an easy description of these files ... ".m2v", ".mpg", ".mpeg"???

Help from anyone would be appreciated!

.m2v is the video stream of an mpeg2 (DVD) file. its silent because it doesn't have the audio stream. you can change the name to .mpg but it'll still lack the audio stream. generally an .mpg or .mpeg video file has an audio stream multiplexed in...but this is not always the case.

rsquirell has explained it perfectly. A m2v file ,when double clicked, will play with sound ONLY if the corresponding audio file is in the same folder as the m2v file.So ,joining m2v files will not help u.U will first need to REMUX the m2v file and its corresponding audio file to produce the correct MPEG2 file.Muxman should be able to do it easily.
