    frame corruption tool

    hi.
    i'm looking for a tool (prefer open source) to corrupt specific frames
    the idea is to create the same effect as video stream with packet lost.

    anyone have any idea ? or work around for this?

    doubt there's a tool/avisynth plugin specifically designed for this, but you could burn the video as a data cd/dvd and scratch the hell out of it, run through vdub or divfix, but that's really trial and error

    a better way would be to use vdub/avisynth to extract frames you wish to corrupt into still images, run them through an image editing app such as xnview or GIMP to apply desired effect, load into vdub, re-encode segments and join.

        not sure i understand your question-- editing frames in any way requires encoding

          yes ofcourse i simply want to get this result
          1 encode to => 1
          2 2
          3 4
          4 5
          5
          simply drop a specific frame
          can i do it with avisynth ?
