    DVD To AVI (for Editing)

I'm going to be doing some editing and I need to cut together some footage from different DVDs I have.

I use a program called DVD Ripper Platinum that has an option to convert the .VOB files into just about any format. The only problem is there isn't an "uncompressed" option. So by doing it this way I'm already working with video that is one generation removed from it's original quality.

Anyone know of any similar apps that will do this conversion without the loss of quality?

both autogk and vdub require encoding, technically losing quality (unless you're going lossless, but it'll blow up the file size ). you might like to try dvd shrink reauthor mode, there's also cuttermaran, chopperxp, etc
