embedded subtitles

Hi,,,,I hope this is posted in the right forum....

I have an avi file with embedded subtitles which I want to remove from the avi file....which software package would the best one for this??

Depends what you mean by embeded. If you mean hard encoded, then basically you don't. If the avi contains an embedded subtitle stream you can remove simply by remuxing with VirtualDubMod since it doesn't support subs in avi.
