    Burning Windows Media File to DVD

    Hey all. I just got a show in windows media audio/video format that i've been trying to author using nero. I get about half way through 2hours in and my computer just freezes. I've tried using DVD author and that doesn't seem to fix the problem either. Is there a reason this is happening to me? I wanted my DVD to look impressive with menus and everything but I keep getting nothing but problems. Can anyone offer some advice? Many thanks.

      Try converting it to MPEG2. Don't know of any freeware that'll do this...but TMPGenc has a free trial. Then you'll find DVD Author will burn.

          For some reason even when I convert to MPEG2 it still freezes around the same time it freezes almost half way through. I've noticed that it very slowly makes progress but it may convert only a couple of frames over the period of an hour... any suggestions?

                  All I am really sure of is that it was orignially a webcast of a concert and was somehow captured in windows media audio/video format...beyond that I really don't know much about the file.

                          okay it looks like I do have DMA enabled but where it says current transfer mode Ultra DMA Mode 2 rather than mode 5...sorry for the confusion
