Well someone who I was talking to on IRC gave me this heads-up on this.
If you have a US keyboard and thought that having ` by itself was stupid, that's because it is. If you set your layout to US (International), (disable US and reboot)
Now if I type that key and a, say, it gives me à . International style
Incase anyone was wondering. However, an annoying downside, it makes the quotation key (the one that does ' and " ) become an accent, doing á and ä. So you have to hit space to get outta "accent mode".
