Fix Mpeg frames

You guys must know the 'mpeg video freeze but audio continues' problem...yes?
well im wondering how to cure it.
the mpg in question wont load into Vdub, coz its frame sets are corrupt, but im sure if i could stip and rebuild the index (a-la DivFix) i could run it again.
Any suggestions or known proggies?
(please dont suggest obvious..Tmpg,Vdub etc..)

Since you don't want anyone to state the obvious, I won't propose that you load it into TMPGEnc as follows:

File>>MPEGTools>>Simple Demultiplex


If you're fortunate, this will give you separate video and audio files, which should make it easier for you to track down and remedy the cause of your problem...

but Vdub check frames while loading for editing , while Tmpg doesnt, so Vdub Detects the corrupt frame and stops loading the mpg at that point while Tmpg will run the D-multiplex but will get to the courrupt frame and then stop the editing.

ie..If courrupt frame is at ,say 20% through the movie, then Tmpg will edit upto 20% of the mpg, Vdub will stop loading it upto 20% of mpeg.

Basicly im being a lil'Lazy (not re-encoding from scratch) but as you know its a big time saver if I can just 'fix' it.

BTW..My duplicate post was for all the other 'Lazy' users (I know not as many ppl scrl dwn 2 the proper forum subject
