    DVD Conversion

    Hi,

    Thanks for those who helped me in the last post but now I have a new problem.
    I have some personal footage which I want to convert to something small like a mpeg or avi file so I can e-mail it to my dad.
    Is there some open source or free software I can use to do this? If not is there some way I can convert my dvd footage to the file and then cut it down?

      and also check out the other stickys and threads in the "Authoring and Editing" forum. Not all the programs are free, but I believe there are some good Demo versions available.

          i'd try virtualdub, compress with something like xvid.
