any other converter to convert films into video ts

Im having trouble with nero i seem to be getting error message, ive also downloaded vision express,but the same problem is there any other converter i can use to convert films on my hard drive into video ts, so i can put them through dvd shrink, ive tried winavi but the sound and picture is not that good.

ive google converter but there is so many to choose from.
