    Help with DVD

    Hi everyone,
I am a new user. I recently had a DVD made of something recorded off the television. I have put the dvd in and I get a message saying something like 'unknown disk, please remove and check disk'. Could this be something to do with the region of the disk or maybe the cover on the disk, which as far as I know is paper or something.
I would be really grateful if someone could help me solve this.
    Many thanks,
    Greg

A few more details might help. Is this a DVR recording or was it transferred to a disc from tape? You might try "exploring" the disc if it shows up under the "my computer" icon. Do you know what format the files are in? The exact error message would be of help too. It is possible that your drive does not like the media and a firmware update could help.

Keep us posted and we can get over these bumps in the road.

Thanks for your help. I have managed to fix the problem. The format of the dvd was UDF and my DVD player did not support that. I went into Windows Media Centre and redid the dvds in a different format.
