    audio cuts out halfway through newly cut .avi file

    Hi,
    when I cut a large avi movie using Virtualdub; the newly created .avi file has no sound halfway through the file. What can be the problem causing this? I've tried Virtualdub version 1.4c, 1.3c, 1.4.8,1.4.10
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance

    It may be the result of an interleaving problem.

    Using VirtualDub v.1_4_10, load the ORIGINAL .AVI

    From the "File" dropdown menu, select "Save as WAV" - and save the audiostream as a .WAV file

    Exit VirtualDub and then restart it (cautionary)

    Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying" and "Audio" to "No audio"

    Load the ORIGINAL .AVI

    Under "Audio", select "WAV audio" - and load your previously extracted .WAV file

    Set "Audio" to "Direct Stream Copying"

    Save this modified .AVI with a new filename (which should now be interleaved on a 1:1 basis)

    Let us know of your success ;>}

      Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it but it didn't help

      While using virtualdub 1.4.10, there is a problem with the video matching up with the audio, when I push play in virtualdub 1.4.10 it works fine but as soon as i move the slider on the bottom to advance through the movie the sound no longer matches up with the video. When I try cutting it the sound doesn't match with the audio as well. I've also tried extracting the audio doesn't match up with where I wanted the movie to be cut.
      This doesn't seem to happen with the older versions of virtualdub but the older ones loose the audio about halfway through the newly cut .avi file.
      Please help

        How it PLAYS under VirtualDub is irrelevant. Does it play properly under Windows Media Player?
