I've been a DVD shrink fan and user for over 2 years now, but recently I've had some major problems with it. It won't shrink V for Vendetta (gets 92% of the way through and hangs), League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (gets 84% of the way through and hangs) and one other (I forget which) that only made it 52% of the way through before it hung. I tried both directly from the (copy protected) DVD and indirectly fom decrytped HDD copies - none work.
Now I have a home-made video that is 4.64Gb in MP2 format (98m, 34s), and expanded to 5.61Gb in video DVD format, and DVD Shrink says it can't open one of the files. I have no trouble playing the video with Power DVD, but DVD Shrink can't shrink it.
I had some luck with InterVideo's DVD Copy 4 in trial mode, but I've run out of their trial period and doubt that DVD Copy 5 will run (haven't tried yet), but I don't really want to pay $50 for it if DVD Shrink (and my other assorted tools) can do the job.
I'm using DVD Shrink version 3.2.0.15 - is there a newer, better version? Is there a fix for any otf this? I've also heard that DVD Shrink is now prohibited - is that also true?
Thanks.
