does anyone know how pirate dvds are done?? i've seen some that are shot from a camcorder in a cinema. doesn't anyone notice a camera on a tripod behind them?

I had a friend who lent me a bootleg and I couldn't watch it. I stopped after 3 minutes. Crappy sound, video and people getting up in the middle of the movie, No thanks! Go see it at the theater or wait for the official releases.

I can't see the point in anyone filming a film with a camcorder. The picture won't fit their TV screen because they'll either have parts of the cinema walls on their TV screen or they will have parts of the cinema screen missing on their TV screen if they zoomed in a bit too much. If they are sitting either too much to the left or the right-hand side, that will give them an odd-shaped screen where they will have it in a partly-sideways view. The Dolby Stereo Surround won't work at all and the camcorder will pick-up the sounds of people muttering or screaming if it's a horror film; not to mention the odd person getting up for a slash. Another thing, whoever is filming will lose part of the film in their recording at the cinema when they change their DV tape or DVD disc. The LP to make them last longer will ruin the picture quality even more. With the use of LP, it could require more DV tapes and DVD discs depending on the duration of the film that results to more of the film missing in the recording while changing DV tapes and DVD discs. The same with the change of a batteries if they are not long-lasting ones. The camcorder method is totally pointless and I'll rather wait for the DVD releases.
