I need a new MP3 player

Decision time.

I heard that on Black Friday, Ace Hardware is selling RCA Lyra 5GB jukebox's for $99. Should I save up for one of those, or get that Cali off eBay?

But there are features at play.

The Lyra afaik has no radio tuner (something I use regularly), and also no resume... every time you turn it on, it goes back to song 1.

The Cali however, has a tuner and resume, but lacks the iPod playlist-like view.

There are pros and cons for both. That's why I am asking here

That's not good; I purchased a "Soulmate" mp3 player several years ago/ 95 MB. It was very limited, & in the end, I was not happy with it.

No backlight, no radio, no scroll feature, no resume, unless you count "pause", which ate up the battery like crazy!

If I were in your shoes, I would do 1 of 2 things;

1. Do your research, & put a very nice one on your Christmas List for Mom & Dad! (Don't spare any features) lol

2. See # 1

Well that auction ended.

There are a couple others that are on eBay, I can look at, one possibly that my dad might bid on that ends in 4 hours, with no bids so far

The Lyra just has that tempting playlist view, where you can see all your songs by artist, title, album, etc, and browse through them. The Cali just has song after another, so if you want to go from song 100 to song 50 you have to hit "next" 50 times in either direction.

I think right now it's 6 of one a half a dozen of the other.

You might also try Amazon. I buy a good bit of stuff off of there, I can usually find some good deals - I look for the ones with the "super saver shipping"

So, I bought that one and it was broken. The sender sent another (different) model, that's broken too.

Anyone know any other places to buy one? I want to get a new MP3 player before I go to England at the end of this month!

Keep an on on Woot.com. They had a Samsung 512 MB with XM radio for $19.99 (plus $5 S/H) today. Sold out in a couple of hours tho. I got an RCA from them with FM radio, voice recorder and MP3 recording for $25 a couple of months ago.

That's where I got mine originally. But I doubt they will have another MP3 player before Christmas.
