Need help please

Hello, I recently purchased a new PC, and just starting having an issue. Up to this point, my DVD/CD-RW has worked as well as it should have, but then suddenly the computer gods decided to piss me off. I popped in a blank CD, to burn some anti-spyware software for my buddy, when it wouldn't read the disk... now, this could have been an easy mistake, so I tried to put in a Star Wars game that I play regularly, only for that not to work either. I went to my computer, and accessed the D drive, and then suddenly my whole computer freezes up! I even tried to boot it in safe mode, and that didn't work either. If this helps, here are some other symptoms I am experiencing that have popped up because of this.

1) I cannot restart my computer with a disk inside, It goes to the boot screen, then to a black dos screen with only a blinking white line.

2)My computer refuses to allow me to explore the D drive, and if I attempt to, it starts having a hissy-fit.

3) Whenever I pop a CD or DVD in, it starts making a ton of noises and the LED light on the front of the drive blinks like crazy.

Thanks in advance for all the help and support! I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, I really couldn't find a place for it!

I would suggest two things:
First try cleaning your comp up. If your unsure of how to do that HERE is a link that will help you do that. If you use this do a full service cleaning.
If that doesnt help at all the second thing I would suggest is a system restore located at
start>all programs>accessories>system tools
just be sure to go back to a date you know it was working fine
With any luck one of these will work for you.
Good luck

Cheers
