how can you split an avi movie in 2 parts

I have a few avi movies and they are larger than 700mb so i can't put them on a cd.
So does anny body know how i can split them in 2 parts.



And if you know, do you know how i can make from these avi movies mpeg movies.

VirtualDUB. Cut off all frames you don't need and save as avi (select DirectStreamCopy for video processing). Remember that you can only cut at keyframes.

Actually you can fit 750 mb on a cd

You can also go to the doom9.org web page, download section and get a prog called AviSplitCalc v3.4. This prog allows you to split a file either into two equal parts - or by movie time.
