how do i download real media files?

Hi, if there is an streaming real media file that shows video on the internet, is there any way that i can download that streaming file onto my computer?

If you're operating in a Windows environment, have you tried rightclicking on the filename and selecting "Save file as"???

if its streaming you will only get the header of the file and not the full file.

If you are talking about Real media files being embedded in the explorer page, you will have to view the source code of the page (if posible) - right click > view source, and look for the possible url and filename and extension. If you have found this, cut and paste in into your download appication, but once again if its streamming you will only get the header of the file.

i cant right click on it. when i start up the webpage it automatically starts to play with the real plug in the explorer...

For this u need real one player,
Now read this carefully, when you open any video clip, right click on the clip that is being played,
Click on "Play in RealOne Player",
When it opens up in ur realone player window right click on the clip being played and then click on "CLIP SOURCE "

You will see a pop up of Clip Source with file name like
Stream: RAM File
File Name: pfm47.rpm

http://.../pfm47.rm

Copy the File name form http://.../"pfm47.rm"

Then Append it at the link below,
"http://www.angelfire.com/droid/jetzipfm2/"


for e.g. if the file name is pfm47.rm
then the link would be
"http://www.angelfire.com/droid/jetzipfm2/pfm47.rm"

Click above if u dont belive,

And there the clip is all urs

Just for u, there are many people in this world who are WEB professionals, but remember there is always a loop hole,

When the WEB designer Blocked your Right click in the page, use View source ( http://jetzipfm48b.cjb.net/ ) you will find the link in there.

Yeah it's not as easy as the is than the moonwalk... (yeah the michael jackson movie)
But I did it when I saw this message just to show you that everything is possible on the net.
Of course it is a little more complicated that the dangerous movie clip, now we talk about streaming and how to download streaming datas, by connecting via sockets.
It's more programming than "looking for the rm name". Cause there is a link for the rm file ( http://www.pakistanidramas.com/pak/G...s/rowankala.rm ) but it is not accessible directly.
It automatically redirects you to an error page.There is more and more inaccessible files for download on the net on some players like real, windows media player, or quicktime... but of course, not for me
