Windows Vista

What is everyone else's opinions on Windows Vista? I watched a video clip of it and it doesn't look that thrilling. I hope the System tools are better out of all things. Some of Windows Vista looks like a load of clutter on the screen unless they can be hidden or unless a wide screen monitor is used. The right-hand side of the screen has a margin over an inch thick with a clock about the size of a golf ball for one thing. That is a big section of the screen being hogged and that's why I hope that part can be hidden. The rest doesn't seem that good.

Is VISTA the new ME

My friend has Vista and it's doesn't seem worth it yet.
I was wondering if this new OS will be the new "ME".
And with all the copy right protection,He can't back up his movie that he
owns so his kids can watch them,and he can keep originals in a pristeen state.

Vista with it's new built-in hardware spyware was the last straw for me. I took the Linux plung and I don't intend on going back.

That copyright protection causes a lot of problems for so many people. It sucks. I had to reactive my Windows XP the other week as Microsoft's method to find out if I have a genuine copy or not and of course, others did. For any that never as in yourself, others as in yourself will get it anytime. When you phone the twenty-four-hour seven days a week telephone that's provided on your screen with an activation message, you have to tell Microsoft the code you have and they'll verify it and give you one to enter. You click on Update and you have to give them another code that they'll verify and they'll give you one to enter. When you click on Next and Finish you're re-activated and your PC is back in action. They have that out so that they can see if the codes are registered once and when they are they know you have a genuine copy. If they get more than one registration coming up on their computer they know whoever they are talking to could have a pirate copy.

Sorry to rattle on. What else I want to mention is, I think it sucks about the new Windows blocking people from even copying home-movies. Microsoft need to get their arses in gear and create something that doesn't backfire. I can understand them doing something to stop people copying pre-recorded material but they have no right stopping us copying home-movies because home-movie-copying as we all know is not illegal. Now you mentioned this with many thanks from me, I'm going to buy a copy of Windows XP so any time I need to buy a new PC, if I get Windows Vista that blocks me from copying anything, I can downgrade to Windows XP and get back what I prefer so that the balls are rolling again.

It seems Microsoft are getting worse. With all the money they make, they still can't be trust to even run an egg and spoon race. When I tried their Anti-Spyware I never got on with it. I use the Norton Anti-Spyware provided by Yahoo at the moment. I want to get Panda's soon.

It doesn't. I used Vista for just under a month and did a lot of video work during that time; I encountered no such restrictions.

All the articles I have read on Vista are overall negative.

Especially when it comes to performance, and infant stage of taking control of your computer.

I can't find the website address, but check out what Toms Hardware had to say about Microsoft Vista. Good article. Maybe someone has the website address.

The only review I found on Toms H was a pre-release review. I did find a current review about the new security patchs.

I will find out from my friend on Sunday he is going to be in a class on Sunday for Vista. I have already decided to that I will not upgrade to Vista. The OS is still in its infancy.
